With the Canterbury Park Racebook now re-opened and operating daily, the handicapping contest schedule is taking shape beginning with this Saturday’s $3 million National Horseplayers Championship Last Chance Qualifier contest.
One entry to the Aug. 27-29, 2021 NHC will be awarded.
The format is simple.
Entry fee is $100 (plus $50 for those that do not have a current NHC Tour ID). Maximum entries per player is four.
Each player will make 10 mythical $2 Win Place wagers in 10 races of choice. There also will be five mandatory mythical $2 Win Place wagers.
Entries will be taken beginning at 10am in the Racebook. Play may begin with the first race of the day. The mandatory races will be run after 2 p.m. which is also the contest entry deadline. The contest will conclude at approximately 5:30 p.m. and a winner declared.
That winner is the player accumulating the largest mythical bankroll. Payout caps per race are $42 win and $22 place. Second place will receive $500 in cash.
Eligible races and the mandatory races will be available Friday at the latest. Complete rules are HERE.
A two-session In The Money Contest is also scheduled for Jan. 16 and 23. Saturday’s contest track is Fair Grounds. Entry fee is $10.
Look for the Thursday through Saturday $10 Super Satellite contests to return next week. The annual free-to-enter Road to Kentucky Handicapping Contest will commence Jan. 30. Details of R2K with $20,000 in cash and prizes will be announced soon.
