Pre-entry deadline for horses for the 2016 Breeders’ Cup at Santa Anita is Oct. 24 so expect the advance past performances to be available shortly after. Canterbury will again sell the DRF version on site and you can also purchase them online at www.drf.com .
Entries for the Nov. 4 and 5 World Championships is Oct. 31. Canterbury will offer advance wagering for both days beginning at noon on Thursday, Nov. 3.

Satellite Contest for Hawthorne Fall NHC
Hawthorne Race Course in Chicago annually holds a National Handicapping Championship qualifier on Thanksgiving weekend. This year it falls on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25-26. Canterbury is holding a satellite contest Oct. 29 that will send players to Hawthorne to compete for eight NHC seats. This contest will be an overlay as it was recently announced that first place would earn an additional $400 contest entry meaning top prize is $1,100 in contest entry fees plus $500 for travel. There are guaranteed to be at least two Hawthorne winners so second place is $700 in entry fees plus $500 for travel. Entry fee to this Canterbury satellite contest is a mere $50. Complete information is HERE but briefly the format allows for eight mythical WPS wagers on races from either Hawthorne or Keeneland that day. This is an inexpensive way to apply your skills and, again, with the addition of $400 entry-fee prize to first place this is an overlay. There is one additional opportunity to win entry to Oct. 29 by playing in the Super Satellite contest this coming week.
