Qualifying Races Conclude

The Qualifying Races for the Canterbury Claiming Series concluded on Thursday night with the final qualifying race for Colts and Geldings. The Finals for both divisions are coming up on August 2 (Fillies and Mares) and August 9 (Colts and Geldings).

The final qualifying race for Colts and Geldings featured some new faces, some that won’t be eligible for the final due to the fact that they only ran in one qualifying race. In fact, this race was won by Sugar Storm (pictured above) who was dropping out of more difficult company and was claimed in a 5-way shake for $3,500 by Gerald Erfle. Additionally, Patriate – the winner of the first two qualifying races – was scratched on the track prior to the start of the race.

Those qualifying for the $25,000 Filly and Mare final on August 2 are:

Boneafide Cat – 16 Points
Rasin a Delight – 16 Points
Gracias – 15 Points
Mighty Tizzy – 12 Points
