Canterbury Park and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, which owns and operates Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, entered into a cooperative marketing and purse enhancement agreement last year that will contribute $75 million to the horsemen’s purse structure over the next 10 years.
This season purses will be double what they were as recently as 2011. Breeders in Minnesota responded by breeding more mares, while those outside the state sent mares to this state to foal for the first time. This Winning Combination is great for Minnesota’s agriculture industry.
