Remington Park will begin its stakes-soaked Sunday program at 3pm, right about the time the final gun will sound and the Vikings will triumphantly leave the field at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis following a thorough thrashing of the Tennessee Titans.
No fans are allowed at US Bank Stadium but the Canterbury Racebook has great football viewing as well as horse racing gambling so plan to be in Shakopee.
Remington Park will run 11 races in all, including eight stakes co-headlined by the Oklahoma Derby and the Remington Park Oaks, both carrying grade 3 status. The program has plenty of Canterbury flavor.

The Oklahoma Derby includes Creative Plan owned by M and M Racing and trained by Karl Broberg. The 3-year-old won once on the dirt and once on the turf at Canterbury and also finished third in the Mystic Lake Derby. He is 8 to 1 and will be ridden by Orlando Mojica.
Canterbury’s Turf Horse of the Meet Tut’s Revenge is the 4 to 1 second choice in the $60,000 Remington Green Stakes facing 2 to 1 choice Mr. Misunderstood who last year finished second in this race as the chalk. The two have contrasting running styles. Mr. Misunderstood travels near the back of the pack before unleashing a run while Tut’s Revenge has success when near or on the lead. He pressed and pounced to victory in the Mystic Lake Mile, one of three wins at Canterbury this summer. He left Shakopee to win at Remington in a turf allowance, his fourth consecutive score. David Cabrera will ride for Clint Stuart and Claim To Fame Stable.

Looking for action Monday? Indiana Grand has a $25,000 Pick 5 carryover and officials there anticipate another $200,000 could be wagered into the pool. The Racebook opens at 11:30am Monday with Indy beginning at 1:20 p.m. and the Pick 5 starts in race 5 at about 3:10 p.m.
