Relentless Flash wins $22,000 Cash Caravan Stakes at 15-1 Odds

Trainer Jason Olmstead wins race for seventh consecutive time

Trainer Jason Olmstead won the Cash Caravan Stakes for the seventh consecutive time but the result Thursday night was not what the wagering public expected. Relentless Flash won the race at 15 to 1 odds after 1 to 9 favorite Jess Rocket Man, also trained by Olmstead, broke slowly and was cut off leaving him last in the five horse field.  Relentless Flash chased down the leaders Relentless Babe, another Olmstead trainee, and Western Reserve to win by a half length in 22.321 seconds for 440 yards. Jess Rocket Man rallied for third behind Relentless Babe.

“I got lucky,” Valenzuela said.

Relentless Flash paid $32.60 for a $2 win wager. She is owned by Tom Maher of Pierre, SD and was ridden by Luis Valenzuela.
