Players will select one horse in each of the 10 designated contest races and will earn points based on a mythical $20 across the board wager. Entries, with all selections, must be submitted prior to the first contest race. No changes are permitted after the contest begins.

Players will designate one of the 10 contest races as a Double Point race and any points earned in that designated race will be doubled.

Points are capped as follows: 600 win; 400 place; 200 show. (or 1,200, 800, 400 in the designated double-point race) All selections must be submitted prior to post time of the first contest race. Entrants will receive the post time favorite should a scratch occur.

To enter:
Entries will be taken on the day of the contest.  A maximum of five entries per person is allowed.

Prize structure:

One player for every 11 entries will win TWO entries to the Dog Days of Summer Handicapping Tournament on Sept. 18-19. Total value is $1,050.
Entry fees that exceed the value of the awarded entries will be paid out as prize money to the next largest score. If there are more than 22 entries the additional entry fees will awarded to the 3rd place finisher and so on.

In the event that there is a tie between two or more players for a prize, the player with the most winning horses will win. In the event that the tie breaker results in additional tie the winner will be determined by drawing.

No individual may have more than three Dog Days Sept. 18 – 19 entries. If an individual wins Dog Days entries in the Sept. 4 contest and already has three entries or wins additional entries that would exceed three on Sept. 18-19, that individual will receive $400 in cash for each entry exceeding the maximum allowed. Such players are eligible to win any available Handicapper of the Year points or prize money.
