Each week the Minnesota Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Agency, the organization that represents trainers, grooms and owners, honors a groom in a winner’s circle presentation.
This week the honor goes to Rachel Lacount.
Rachel works for trainer Bruce Riecken.
Little did Bruce know that when Rachel showed up on her first day of work, she would still be with his barn sixteen years later.
Rachel grooms and cares for literally every horse in the Riecken barn. Bruce says that Rachel is incredibly hard working, never misses a day and brings a totally positive attitude to everyone in the barn, be they human or equine.
When Rachel has the opportunity, which isn’t very often during the summer, she enjoys camping, traveling, going to concerts and spending time with family and friends, many she met at Canterbury Park.
Congratulations to Rachel Lacount, the Minnesota HBPA Groom of the Week.
