Trainer Jason Olmstead qualified six 2-year-olds for the Aug. 7 NCQHRA Futurity, including the fastest qualifier Chick In Eagle.
Five trial races were held Sunday with 43 quarter horses attempting to be among the 10 fastest and advance to the final which will offer a $54,400 purse, the richest in the history of the race. Olmstead was responsible for six of the qualifiers, Vic Hanson two, and Ed Ross Hardy and Bob Johnson one each.
