MNHBPA Groom of the Week – Maurillio Desixto
This week the Minnesota HBPA recognizes Maurillio Desixto as Groom of the Week.
Maurillio has been with Gary Scherer’s barn for a dozen years. He has groomed some very fast horses such as Polar Plunge and Wind Chill Factor.
His dedication and work ethic are unquestioned. According to Scherer, Maurillio is the first to the barn every morning, arriving at 3:30. Likewise, Maurillio can expertly handle anything that may pop up during training and he has a deft touch with all the horses.
“He is one of the best grooms in the world. He never stops working,” Scherer said.
