MN-Bred Triple Crown Nominee Debuts Thursday

The 3-year-old Eurasian, bred in Minnesota by Winchester Place Thoroughbreds, is scheduled to make his debut Thursday in the eighth race at Santa Anita, a six-furlong maiden claimer.

Eurasian was purchased for $75,000 at the 2010 Keeneland 2-year-old in training sale. His dam, Maywood’s Jill, raced at Canterbury finishing 3rd in the Northern Lights Debutante in ’02 and second in the Minnesota Oaks in ’03.

Eurasian, nominated to the Triple Crown, drew the rail and will be ridden by Mike Smith. He can be claimed for $50,000.
