Racehorse grooms are the caretakers of the equine athletes and although there work often goes unseen by the public, they are crucial to this sport. Each week the Minnesota HBPA recognizes the work of the groom with the Groom of the Week Award.
This week’s Groom of the Week is Rodolfo Torres.
The recent Canterbury Hall of Fame inductee, trainer Mike Biehler, knows how important it is to have a strong team. Mike also realizes a key member of his team is Rodolfo Torres. Rodolfo has been in the Biehler barn for 20 years. Since Mike is often galloping horses in the morning, he appreciates knowing his stable is in good hands with Rodolfo. Mike greatly respects the intuitive feel Rodolfo has with horses. For this, and for everything else Rodolfo does, he is being honored as the Minnesota HBPA Groom of the Week.
