This week the Minnesota Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association recognizes Candalero “Candy” Garcia as Groom of the Week. The MNHBPA honors an individual that excels in their work with a Winners’ Circle presentation weekly following the first race on Wednesdays.
Candy has been a groom with the Nancy Sheehan barn for 12 years.
“He’s the best groom on the backside,” Nancy says “He’s extremely smart and especially gifted with young horses. He is an expert on horses’ legs and an all-around excellent horseman. Plus, he’s just a great guy, a positive influence on everyone around him.”
