Miguel Sevilla —  MNHBPA Groom of the Week

Each week the Minnesota Horsemen’s Benevolent & Protective Association recognizes a groom that excels at the job. Grooms are the unsung heroes of this sport, caring for the equine athletes each day, preparing those in their care to race.

Miguel Sevilla has been named Groom of the Week. Miguel has worked for trainer Nevada Litfin for five years. Because of his quiet, sensitive demeanor he has an uncanny knack for calming 2-year-olds and some of the higher-strung fillies. This intuitive talent can’t be taught and is complimented by Miguel’s superb work ethic.

“His care of horses is impeccable,” Litfin said.

Miguel will be recognized in a winner’s circle presentation Wednesday following the first race.
