Canterbury Park: Who would play you in a movie about your life?
Jerry Langsweirdt: Tom Hanks. I think he is more of a regular person than many….and I see myself as just a regular guy.
CP: What accomplishment are you most proud of?
JL: I worked with and helped guide high school students for many, many years
CP: What’s something people might find surprising about you?
JL: I announce high school sports events, coach Knowledge Bowl, am a cancer survivor, do gardening, and lots of volunteer work.
CP: What’s your favorite part about working at Canterbury Park?
JL: I enjoy all the people from so many backgrounds, walks of life, ages, et.al. There is usually lots of excitement in the air, especially during live racing. I have been here since Day 1 in 1985. (I guess now I am just too stubborn to quit.) And I have really enjoyed the people I have worked and am working with.
CP: What do you want on your tombstone?
JL: To make ours a better place to live, we have to work for it… I tried to make a difference.
