April is here. And that means our 2018 live racing season is right around the corner!
But we’ve got plenty of fun on deck this month as we gear up for Opening Day on May 4.

Live Racing Tables, Tickets & Packages
Tickets for live racing are now on sale!
Secure your table or tickets now for our most popular race days, including the Running of the Bulldogs, Extreme Day, Corgi & Cupcakes and the Triple Crown race days.
Speaking of the Triple Crown, you should act now to reserve a package for the Kentucky Derby, coming up on May 5. These packages typically fill up quickly, with options ranging from open bar in our suite, ongoing appetizers and buffet, to terrace tables for six. The Kentucky Derby is one of our biggest race days of the season, so be sure to reserve a table or two for you and your friends for the biggest Derby party in Minnesota.

April Showers of Cash
Bank on this: We’re making it rain this April.
It’s raining big wins this month with our April Showers of Cash! Table games players who earn 300 points on Fridays and Saturdays will score an entry to our ball drop game board.
Then on the following Monday, get out your umbrellas because it looks like it will be raining cash from 4-9 p.m.! Win up to $250 for each drop for a total of $750 each week (limited to three entries per week).

Keeneland 250,000 Point Bonus
Don’t forget your MVP Card when you hit the Racebook this month. We’re giving away 250,000 bonus points!
For every $1,000 you wager on Keeneland at Canterbury Park, you will get a share of the quarter of a million in bonus points we’re giving away this April. Watch and wager on all the action to get your share!
The Spring Meet at Keeneland runs from April 6-27. Highlights at this popular Kentucky racetrack include the $1 million Toyota Blue Grass (G2) and $500,000 Central Bank Ashland (G1) on April 7.
Cars and Coffee
April 7 marks the first Cars and Coffee event of the season.
From 8-11 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month, MN Cars & Coffee helps get some of the coolest and most unique cars around to Canterbury Park.
It’s free to show off your own ride or simply check out the vehicles on hand. Cars and Coffee also features food trucks, beer and other refreshments available for purchase.
It’s held the first Saturday of the month through October and is goes on rain or shine.
Big Race Money Back Bonus
There’s nothing worse than picking a winner… only to see your horse come in second.
We’ve got the answer: Our Big Race Money Back Bonus!
Simply place a $10 Win wager one or all of the featured stakes races on Saturday, April 7 and get your money back if your horse finishes second. The select races are among the big Kentucky Derby prep races:

Live Racing Countdown – 25 Days
Who’s excited for live racing!
Canterbury Park is counting down the days until our Season Opener on May 4. And April 9 marks 25 until we bring back the excitement of live horse racing!
Ultimate Super Satellite Handicapping Contest
You can win a $50 entry the Ultimate National Horseplayers Championship Qualifier Satellite in May by showing off your handicapping skills in April.
There is a $10 entry fee for each contest day. Select a track from three offered each day, then pick a horse in each of the eight contest races. Points are awarded on a mythical $20 across the board wager.
The sessions are:
- April 12-14
- April 19-21
- April 26-28
- May 3-5
- May 10-12
There will be cash bonuses, and one player for each five entries from each super satellite session wins a $50 entry into the Ultimate NHC Qualifier Satellite Contest on Sunday, May 20.
Spring Festival
Get your craft in gear!
The Spring Festival: An Arts and Craft Affair is set for April 13-15.
This massive craft expo features hundreds of the nation’s top artisans and crafters displaying and selling their work. It’s an arts and crafts bonanza!
Plus, there will be entertainment, hourly drawings for gift certificates, food and drink and plenty of fun for the family. The event has been voted one of the top 100 shows in the country by Sunshine Artist Magazine.

MSPT
The Mid-States Poker Tour returns to Canterbury Park in April with a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool!
One of the area’s top poker tournaments, the MSPT will offer several satellites and super satellites leading up to the Main Event, a $1,100 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tourney.
There will be two Main Event flights:
- Day 1A – 4 p.m. Friday, April 27
- Day 1B – 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28
Day 2 kicks off at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 29.
The most recent two winners of MSPT events at Canterbury Park scored wins of $102,076 and $102,493, respectively. The Main Event final table will be broadcast on msptpoker.com.

We can’t wait for the start of live racing! April 24 marks only 10 days until our Season Opener!
Junk Bonanza
Like shabby chic stuff? Need a wall lamp made from an old snowshoe? How about a table whose base was once a vintage Chevy’s front end?
Find it all at the Junk Bonanza! The showcase of handmade, repurposed and vintage goods runs from April 19-21.
It’s a marvel of décor, junk and salvaged items, and vendors come from across the country to show off their goods. You’ll be able to find thousands of unique wares and one-of-a-kind finds.
You truly have to see it to believe it.
