The $100,000 Lady Canterbury Breeders’ Cup Stakes nominations closed Saturday with 32 fillies and mares. The race will be run on Claiming Crown Day, Saturday, July 25. As many as 14 can start in the race.
Several locals are possible including Couple Whiles from the Rhone stable, Tammy Domenosky’s Delphinium and Northbound Pride winner Sirrah from the Biehler barn.
Trainer Michael Matz has nominated five runners and is likely to send something for the big race. Doug O’Neill, based in Southern California is considering horses for Claiming Crown and may send Grace Anatomy along for the Lady C.
Mizzcan’tbewrong won the MN HBPA mile impressively and is nominated as well.
