Here Come The Mummies to play Canterbury Park Aug. 28

Tickets on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m.

The World’s preeminent Undead Funk ambassadors, Here Come the Mummies, will perform at Canterbury Park Friday, Aug. 28. Here Come the Mummies is an eight-piece funk-rock band of 5000-year-old Egyptian Mummies with a one-track mind. HCTM has been direct support for P-Funk, Al Green, Mavis Staples, KC and the Sunshine Band, and Cheap Trick; rocked Super Bowl Village; become a regular on The Bob and Tom Show; appeared on That’s My Jam with Jimmy Fallon; played massive festivals like Summer Fest, Summer Camp, Bluesfest Byron Bay, Musikfest, and Suwannee Hulaween; and sold tickets by the thousands across multiple continents..

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, June 2 at 10 a.m. online only at tickets.canterburypark.com with prices starting at $29.  Ticket options range from general admission to reserved seating and VIP Deck Tables closest to the stage offering tableside cocktail and menu service.

Rumored to be Grammy-winning studio musicians from Nashville, Here Come the Mummies perform anonymously under wraps and with pseudonyms. HCTM’s mysterious personas, cunning song-craft, and unrelenting live show have thrilled music lovers worldwide earning them international acclaim.

Gates open at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 with HCTM taking the stage at 7:30 p.m.

General parking adjacent to the concert theater is free. Preferred parking is also available for a fee.

Canterbury Park, a horse racetrack and casino, has long been known for large-scale concert events, but in 2021 began hosting an outdoor summer concert series in a more intimate trackside setting. The concert theater is positioned on the north end of the grandstand facing the track. The 2000-capacity theater offers multiple seating options and is known for the guests’ proximity to the performers and brilliant acoustics. Canterbury Park is easily accessible in Shakopee, Minn., a suburb 20 minutes southwest of Minneapolis.

Multiple full-service bars and dining options are open throughout the Canterbury facility before and after each show along with casino gaming including Blackjack, Pai Gow and Texas Hold ‘em poker. Food trucks and bars are available inside the concert area.

Canterbury Commons, the social district surrounding Canterbury Park, is home to several restaurants and bars including Boardwalk Kitchen & Bar, Mr. Pig’s Smokery, Bravi’s Craft Mexican Kitchen and Badger Hill Brewing, all welcoming concert goers.
