Race 1: CELTICS WILDCAT had the rail in last and battled for the lead until tiring late but was clear of the third-place finisher. Gets outside today and should stalk and pounce. JUST PLAIN PRETTY is a firster for Robertson with a nice series of workouts including a bullet on May 22 but one sibling to race was uninspiring. SUNDANCE STAR will be closing late but has struggled to pass the last few.
Race 2: JEWEL AZUL comes out of a key race with two next-out winners. Broberg wins at 31% when dropping half in claiming price. Should be right behind the leaders and pass late. TIMEINTHETAVERN has the advantage of two wins under his belt due to his Minnesota-bred condition. Both of his route races were impressive. LOVE YA MOST has back class but really hasn’t picked up her feet lately. The big drop in claiming price might wake her up.
Race 3: RING LEADER will be alone on the lead and breeding suggests she should like going long on the turf. Hoping Canchari is able to slow down the pace. FIRSTMATE really likes the Canterbury grass winning two-of-three and only losing last year’s Lady Canterbury by two lengths. Questioning if the pace will be hot enough for her closing kick. JEN TAKE CHARGE displayed an impressive turn of foot in last blowing by her rivals late but also may be pace dependent.
Race 4: GREATER CAIRO was claimed out his last race by Robertson who doesn’t claim many. Has posted a bullet work since the claim and will appreciate the additional furlong. HERZEN has been racing against better this year and Eikleberry climbs aboard for his dad. ILLUMINATI is blessed with early speed and will try to use it to his advantage breaking from the outside post.
Race 5: AMANOFMYSTATURE has a couple of impressive turf sprints already on his resume and Tracy has a 29% win rate at this distance. TWIRLING ROSES should show customary speed but really had no excuses last time out. If he is able to get an easy lead, he may not stop. BAYOU COLONEL gets the services of Quinonez/Rengstorf and everything they touch has been gold lately. The June 3 bullet work is solid.
Race 6: PRINCESA DEL SOL drops half in claiming price, adds blinkers and has enough outside speed to clear this field. Add those up and it equals a potential victory. DROP O’ CHOCOLATE might sit right behind the top pick and if the top pick stops, inherit the lead at the right time. MRS. D’S CONCERTO cashes a lot of checks but has not crossed the wire first since May 2019.
Race 7: GLACKEN’S GHOST was incredibly rank in the early stages while trapped on the rail in his last race. An outside post and jockey change will be beneficial. BUCKYS PICK ran a nice race on the lawn two back but was loose on the lead that day while there appears to be plenty of early zip today. COPPER FIDDLE has posted some nice speed figures on the grass but this will be his fifth race in the last two months.
Race 8: PURPLE SCOOTER is well bred both top and bottom to be a turf sprinter. Ships north from Prairie Meadows to get on the lawn for high percentage Arnett. VISUAL MAGIC takes a large drop down the class ladder and was in the mix last time out in a turf sprint. TEMUJIN LADY likes to win having won four-of-seven but not sure she’ll appreciate the surface switch.
Race 9: CHEQUER OUT had the early lead in career debut at Remington and shortens up in distance today. RATE ME A LADY bobbled out of the gate before he found his best stride in her last race. Might have needed that race. SCOUTS ON FIRE improved dramatically from race one to race two. Another step forward is needed.
Race 10: APOLLITICAL FANCY comes from a high percentage barn that win 21% first time out. Bullet work at Remington on May 15 shows she’s ready. DRINK RELENTLESSLY was heavily backed at the windows in last race and Escobedo/Olmstead are winning at 43% together. HELLO DOTTIE the other Olmstead has had three tries but gets the favorable outside post today.
