Race 1: UNCLE GOYLE exits two turf sprints and was there at the finish. Those two races should be a good foundation to stalk and pounce today. B S CYCLOTRON sure likes to win having won 8 of 17 career starts. Has plenty of speed as he has out broke quarter horses in the past. EPIC DRAMA has three wins at Fonner this spring but Fonner form has not translated to Canterbury form.

Race 2: LITTLE NO WAY battled for the lead before tiring last time he was seen on the dirt. Tried, unsuccessfully, the turf in last against better and switches to Silva barn. SHARP ART had two seconds against better at Oaklawn this spring and shows up in the Broberg barn after being claimed. ROLLS ROYCE DEAL also was claimed by Broberg last time out and will be closing late.

Race 3: CREATIVE MIND has a full brother who was on the Kentucky Derby trail and raced in the Preakness five years ago. Breeding says turf should be no problem but must overcome tough post in career debut. SMARTY ALEX has been pretty consistent in all of his turf starts. He’s had eight opportunities but his speed figures indicate his worthiness. SAMYAZA is the “other” Robertson and has a couple of nice grass efforts but has been backing up in the stretch.

Race 4: ANNIE’S SHENANIGAN had a sneaky bad trip in last on the turf that many of these participated in. Was leaned on and bumped repeatedly early causing her to go three-wide into the first turn. Then clipped heals on the backstretch. Expect improvement with better trip. CANTERBURY GOLD showed speed on a speed favoring turf course last out. If she gets loose, she could be tough but she usually backs up. THAT WOULD BE NICE is bred well for the lawn and will be running late.

Race 5: SHABAM came up uncharacteristically empty in last race. Gets a much better post today in her second try for the Robertson barn. LADY HIDEAWAY was very competitive on the green last summer and has a local race under her belt. Appears the pace will be a strong one to set up for her late kick. UNCHAINING MELODY was right in the mix in three turf starts in northern California and reunites with Diodoro after a long hiatus.

Race 6: SHRIMPEE broke her maiden last time out impressively, gets advantageous outside post and retains top jockey. MYOWNERSBROKE will appreciate the extra 80 yards from last race and will most likely improve after seasonal debut. LIVING IN THE PAST exits stakes race after a mid-pack finish.

Race 7: NVINCABLE tries to live up to his name after a nice prep down at Remington. The Escobedo/Olmstead combination always has to be taken seriously. CALDERS HERO has the rail for Hardy who is capable of firing first out and the dam of this runner produces 17% first-time-starter winners. TERRIFIC EFFORT was bet down in career debut and encountered trouble then caught a tough field in last.

Race 8: ONE WICKED BREW ran a much-improved race in second start as a two-year-old. Hopefully matured over the winter and fires in seasonal debut. XF PAINTED HERO didn’t put forth his best effort in Canterbury debut but was bet that day so expecting improvement. STREAKIN CORNADO debuted last summer and that race included two next out winners.

Race 9: LIBERTI raced against better at Remington in the spring but had some success at Canterbury last summer as a two-year-old. MAKING A MIRACLE broke maiden in last and hit the board in a stakes race last summer at Canterbury so she does have talent. DUGAN CHAPEL BABY was close in last three starts at Remington and gets the services of top jockey.

Race 10: KOWBOY JIM loves Canterbury, sporting a six-for-eight record and has recency with two prep races at Remington in last two months. APOLLITICAL MOGUL has consistently posted high speed figures but may need a race before seeing top effort. WESTERN RESERVE had three wins at Canterbury last summer but must show improvement as a three-year-old in order to compete against this tough field.

Race 11: FURIOUSITY moves from the rail to a better post and will benefit from having a start at current meeting. Has raced well on fast tracks. CATCH THE DRAMA showed an improved effort in last but must continue to move forward. FIND A RIDER reared at the break losing all chance in last. Better break today and he’ll be right in the mix.
