The Canterbury Park Satellite Handicapping Contest is a one-day handicapping contest held at Canterbury Park, Shakopee, Minn. Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Winner(s) will qualify for the Aug. 23-24 Dog Days Tournament and/or the Sept. 20 XpressBet NHC Qualifier.
Total cost per entry is $100.
One player for the first 11 entries will win ONE Dog Days entry and ONE XpressBet NHC Qualifier entry and an NHC Tour ID if needed.
If there are 12 to 15 entries, the additional entry fees will awarded to the second-place finisher. If there are 16 entries the second -place finisher will have a choice of ONE Dog Days entry or ONE Sept. 20 entry. If 17-20 entries, the extra cash goes to third score. If 21 entries, two prize packages will be awarded to the top two scores. If 26 entries, the third score gets choice of ONE Dog Days entry or ONE Sept. 20 entry and so on*.
Format:
Players will select one horse in each of TEN pre-selected races and will earn points based on a mythical $20 across the board wager. Entries, with all selections, must be submitted prior to the first contest race. No changes are permitted after the contest begins.
Points are capped as follows: 600 win; 400 place; 200 show. All selections must be submitted prior to post time of the first contest race. Entrants will receive the post time favorite should a scratch occur. Additional Winners will be determined by score.
The 10 contest races selected from various tracks will be announced by Aug 14.
Entries may be submitted on August 16 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
No player may have more than eight entries.
