Busy Card Room Expansion

Casino Expansion Features New Culinary Options, New Table Games, Fresh Look

Canterbury Park recently embarked on an ambitious project to remodel the Casino, bringing a fresh look, new table games and an exciting new culinary options.

“We’re so thrilled to have the remodeling of the Casino complete,” said Michael Hochman, VP of casino operations. “I really think players are going to love the open feel of the space, as well as the new High Stakes room. And the food is remarkable. Chef Seth has really stepped up our food offerings, and there are even more surprises coming soon!”

New Layout

The most striking aspect of the remodeling project is the new space at the entrance from the Casino to the racetrack area.

A massive glass wall now divides the Casino from the track area, making the space more inviting for live racing guests. In the Casino, meanwhile, the poker area has been repositioned and a new dining area, the Trifecta Café, has been built.

“We couldn’t be happier with how the project turned out,” Hochman said. “And it’s really fun to have new games in the room. Pokerlette, Zombie Blackjack, and I Luv Suits are getting great feedback from the players.”

Plus, there is a new special room for guests who want to play high stakes.

Among the major upgrades associated with the remodel is the new Trifecta Café, which features three distinct menus:

• Asian

• Italian

Featuring artisan pizza selection

• American Comfort

Featuring breakfast 24/7

The driving force behind the new menus is Chef Seth Teiken, who brings extensive high-end restaurant experience to Canterbury Park.

“We have put a lot of thought and effort into the new food at Canterbury Park,” said Ricardo Lopez, Senior Director of Hospitality. “Our guests are going to love the expansive new menus, which keep some of our more popular items while giving players a diverse selection of fantastic fare.”

“The Little Chicago Chophouse is going to be the premier restaurant in the area,” Lopez said. “We are bringing in the finest steaks, fresh seafood, an exquisite wine list, unique Prohibition-era cocktails and the best service imaginable.”
