Owner Blythe Myers, whose colors are seen regularly at Canterbury Park, has made the first nomination for the 2008 Claiming Crown, which will be held at the Shakopee, MN track Saturday Aug. 2. The 2008 Canterbury Park season opens Saturday, May 3, Kentucky Derby Day.Myers nominated Sneakin By, a 4-year-old Texas-bred trained by Justin Evans who finished first and second in races at Canterbury last year. Sneakin By, who is eligible for the $75,000, six furlong Rapid Transit, was second in his ’08 debut last weekend at Turf Paradise in Arizona.
