Canterbury Racebook for Breeders’ Cup Oct. 31 and Nov. 1

Canterbury Park is Minnesota’s place to be to watch and wager on the 2025 Breeders’ Cup World Championships.  Del Mar Thoroughbred Club will host the 42nd rendition of thoroughbred racing’s biggest event. Fourteen Grade 1 races will be run over the two days, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, with $34 million in purse money awarded and more than $175 million in wagering expected.

Friday’s first race from Del Mar will start at 1:35 PM with the first Breeders’ Cup race at 4:45 PM. The Canterbury Racebook will be open at 10:30 AM.

On Saturday, the first race will start at 12:05 PM with the first Breeders’ Cup race at 2:00 PM. The Racebook is open at 9 AM. Keep reading to learn about food and drink specials on Nov. 1.

The $7 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic will be run as Race 9 on Saturday with a post time of 5:25. There will be three Breeders’ Cup races run after the Classic to finish the day.

the $2m Breeders’ Cup Sprint. Mad House, who won three races at Canterbury prior to his wire-to-wire win in the G2 Gallant Bob at Parx, is trained by David VanWinkle.

The Rood & Riddle Post Position Draw will take place live on FanDuel TV on Monday, October 27 at 6 PM. The draw will also be streamed on BreedersCup.com, the Breeders’ Cup Mobile App, and YouTube, Facebook, and X social channels.

 

 

Breeders’ Cup has announced race order and wagering menu which include multiple special wagers.  Here is an excerpt from the BC release:

The 2025 wagering menu for the two-day World Championships will include a total of ten Pick 4’s, six Pick 5’s, two Pick 6’s, and four special daily doubles

 On Friday, there will be a Breeders’ Cup $3 All-Turf Pick 3. The three races, in order, are:

 Race 6: Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1)

 Race 8: John Deere Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1)

 Race 10: Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1)

 The Breeders’ Cup All-Turf Pick 4 on Saturday is a $.50 minimum wager and will package four of the best turf races in the world together with full fields of international competitors. The four races, in order, are:

 Race 5: Prevagen Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1)

Race 8: Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1)

 Race 10: FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1)

 Race 12: Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1)

 The Breeders’ Cup will also offer the Breeders’ Cup All-Dirt Pick 4 on Saturday, which is a $.50 minimum wager. The four races, in order, are:

 Race 4: PNC Bank Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1)

 Race 6 Cygames Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1)

 Race 7: Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1)

 Race 9: Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1)

 Breeders’ Cup will also offer three Pick 5’s on Saturday. The early Pick 5 will be Race 1 through Race 5. The middle Pick 5 will start with Race 5, the Prevagen Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) and end with Race 9, the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1). The late Pick 5 will start with the Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf and end with the final race of the day, the Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1).

There will be four Special Daily Doubles (SPDD) across the two days as follows:
