Each week the Minnesota Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Agency, the organization that represents trainers, grooms and owners, honors a groom in a winner’s circle presentation.
This week that honor goes to Candy Garcia.
Candy is in his 14th year with trainer Nancy Sheehan. Nancy says he runs the barn and is always all about the horses. They come first to him, so much so that he never misses a day at work.
Some of the horses Candy tends to are Rollin Blackout, Mizzanna and Delusional Dream.
There’s also another, equally special side to Candy. He has two beautiful grandchildren who are the light of his life.
