Estefany Hernandez is the Minnesota HBPA Groom of the Week.
Estefany has been working for trainer Tony Rengstorf since 2016. Tony is quick to point out her work ethic and how much she genuinely cares about the race horses.
Estefany takes care of six horses including recent allowance winner Papa’s Isla Doll, Vegan Goes Best who has won twice this summer, and stakes-placed Cabloosie Bay. She will be recognized in a winner’s circle presentation Thursday evening following the second race.
The groom is a crucial member of every racing stable, making sure horses are cared for and ready to race.
Congratulations to Estefany Hernandez, the Minnesota HBPA Groom of the Week.
Marabel Nova works for trainer Tony Rengstorf, grooming six horses.
Rengstorf nominated Marabel because she does an excellent job grooming and taking care of those horses which include Lady Hideaway, Little Instigator, Stay My Favorite, That Would Be Nice, Twoko Bay and Zoe’s Delight.
Another quality of Marabel that Rengstorf appreciates is that she has such a happy and positive attitude each day due, in large part, to her love for the horses.
Marabel will be recognized in a winner’s circle presentation following Thursday’s second race.
Each week the Minnesota HBPA celebrates a Groom of the Week, honoring those behind the scenes that make racing possible.
Tonya Williams has been working in the Ed Kereluk barn for more than four years. She grooms and cares for four four horses. She is also responsible for the feed program for the entire stable.
According to trainer Kereluk, Tonya “keeps all things in order. She’s the one that runs the barn and is on top of all those things that make a difference.”
Fitting praise indeed for the Minnesota HBPA Groom of the Week, Tonya Williams.
Guillermo Lopez, this week’s Minnesota HBPA Groom of the Week, is a proud member of the Ed Ross Hardy racing team as he has been for the last three years.
Guillermo is very well thought of by all those around him. Ed and his wife Kari, who runs the Canterbury operation, say that he is always very hardworking and is totally dedicated to the horses. Among others, Guillermo grooms and cares for Celebration, Minnesota-bred 2-year-old Western Reserve who is pointed to the Minnesota Futurity, and Wicked 6 who is likely to run in the Minnesota Quarter Horse Derby.
Congratulations to Guillermo Lopez. He will be recognized in a winner’s circle presentation following Thursday’s second race.
Victor Morales has been with the Tony Rengstorf stable for more than four years and works with a team that has been extremely loyal to the operation. Victor and that team are integral in the success Rengstorf has experienced.
Victor is responsible for the care and well being of six horses. Those currently under his care are Big Sport, Double Bee Sting, Drop of Golden Sun, Maywood Hope, Son of Poseidon and Two Be Royal. Rengstorf said that Victor is always dependable and always good to his horses.
When Victor is not with the horses, which is seldom in a position that requires working each day, he is fishing somewhere.
Congratulations to Victor Morales, the Groom of the Week. He will be recognized in a Winner’s Circle presentation following Race 2 on Thursday.
