Canterbury Park is always striving to improve the racing experience for their loyal customers. For the 2017 live racing two new on-track locations will be unveiled to add enjoyment to a day at the races. Adjacent to Longshots on the second level will be the Bud Light Bar featuring the Bud Light Party Pit, where there will be four outdoor blackjack tables and a great space to watch live racing while you enjoy an ice cold beer. On the track level, Canterbury is increasing the number of Cabanas from two to four in order to accommodate more group outings.
This summer, in pursuance of continuing the trend of providing transparency between the stewards and the racing public, the stewards will be supplying information on the Canterbury Park website regarding their rulings and decisions on disqualifications and order of finish changes within 24 hours of said decisions.
Another new addition to the Canterbury Park riding colony will be Katlin Bedford, a New York native and apprentice rider who won a few races at Remington Park last fall before spending her winter riding at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Rob Junk is back for his second year as racing secretary at Canterbury Park. He’s assembled his team in the racing office and is looking forward to a great meet here at Canterbury Park. Junk is excited to have horses coming from all over the country, and is looking forward to an exciting and competitive meet for 2017.
