Minnesota connections run first-second in Oaklawn stakes

Win Willy, owned by Jerry and Marlene Myers (Jer-Mar Stables LLC) of Minneapolis, won the $75,000 Fifth Season Stakes on Sunday at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

The 5-year-old Kentucky-bred thoroughbred is trained by Mac Robertson and was ridden by Cliff Berry.Win Willy rallied from the back of the pack to beat Stachys by a neck. Stachys is owned by Al and Bill Ulwelling of Elk River and is trained by Mike Biehler.

As the betting favorite, Win Willy returned $3.20.
