Breeders’ Cup Race Order and Wagering Menu

Breeders’ Cup officials announced the race order for the 14 championship races, wagering menu, and guaranteed pools earlier this week in preparation for entry day on Monday, October 28. The 36th Breeders’ Cup will be held Nov. 1 and 2 at Santa Anita.

A press release stated:

The first Championships race on “Future Stars Friday” will be the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint followed by the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf  – presented by Coolmore America; the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies; the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf  and the $2 million TVG Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.

Championship Saturday begins with three undercard races followed by the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint ; the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint ; the $1 million Big Ass Fans Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile; the $2 million Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf; the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Sprint ; the $2 million TVG Breeders’ Cup Mile ; the $2 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff ; the $4 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf  and the $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic.

Friday’s Guaranteed Pools

Friday’s card will open with a $500,000 minimum guarantee Pick 5 on Races 1-5; a late Pick 5 with a $1 million guarantee on Races 5-9, and an all Breeders’ Cup Pick 4 on Races 6-9 with a $1 million minimum guarantee.

Saturday’s Guaranteed Pools

There will be  a $1 million guaranteed all Breeders’ Cup Ultra Pick 6 on races 7-12; an all Breeders’ Cup  Late Pick 5 on races 8-12 with a $2 million guarantee; and a $2 million guaranteed all Breeders’ Cup Late Pick 4 on Races 9-12.

Advance wagering at Canterbury Park begins at noon on Thursday, Oct. 31. On Friday, wagering windows open at 9:30 am and the first BC race is at 3:12 pm. Saturday mutuel windows open at 9am one hour after the Racebook doors open. The first BC race is at 1:55pm.
