A.J.Bakes Ready to Assume the Throne? (5/10/2008)

The 2007 Canterbury 2-Year-old Champion A. J. Bakes will face older fillies and mares for the first time next Saturday in the $50,000 Lady Slipper Stakes. With the retirement of some of the best older MN bred fillies and mares like Sentimental Charm, Run With Joy, and Glitter Star, is this 3-year-old daughter of Boundary ready become the next big thing? She went 3 for 4 last year, beating the boys, winning in the slop, and capturing the top prize in the Northern Lights Debutante.

Her connections have high hopes; click here to see an interview with Scott Stevens and owner John Baker.
