The Oaklawn race meet comes to a close this week as the Hot Springs, Ark. racetrack features the Racing Festival of the South. The Grade I Arkansas Derby, with a $1 million purse, highlights Saturday’s card. The entire Saturday program will be used for the Road to Kentucky Handicapping Contest, plus the Lexington Stakes from Keeneland.
Prize money is awarded weekly.
Daniels wins Spring Tune-Up Satellite
Mike Daniels hit the Blue Grass longshot winner Irap to win the April 8 Spring Tune-Up Satellite Contest. He earned an entry to the September Dog Days Tournament plus $1,350 in cash. Steve Laurent was second. He too will play in Dog Days and received $810. Bruce Meyer was third. He wins entry to the Ultimate NHC Qualifier plus $540.
