Bhr the Bomb Dot Com wins $22,000 stake at 15 to 1 odds

Bhr the Bomb Dot Com entered The 1889 Futurity with no wins from four starts and exited the 350 yard race a winner Wednesday at Canterbury Park. She paid $32.60.The futurity offered a $22,000 purse and was restricted to 2-year-old quarter horses bred in North Dakota or South Dakota. The South Dakota bred filly prevailed by one-half length, passing early leader and eventual third-place finisher Hidden Charms and holding off a late charge from favored Redoinit. She is trained by Robert Johnson and is owned by her breeder Broken Heart Ranch. Randy Vega was aboard. Final time was 18.280 seconds.

“She’s just been one of those closers,” Johnson said. “She tries hard every time. She gets in trouble and still tries. She’s got guts and that’s why we’re here.”
