The 2011 live race meet at Canterbury Park comes to a close this week with racing Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 8 – 11. Post times will be: Thursday and Friday at 7:00 pm, Saturday at 1:30 pm, and Sunday at 11:00 am. Free admission is offered all week.
A Purple Pre-Game Party is scheduled for Sunday. Along with an earlier than normal 11:00 am first post for the nine-race card, several activities are planned to accommodate football fans including an appearance by the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders, a Football Fan Viewing Zone with large-screen televisions, and food and beverage specials such as $1 hotdogs and $2.50 tap beer. “We are creating a festive atmosphere for those that want to enjoy football as well as the final day of the race meet,” senior marketing manager John Groen said. “We will offer the best of both worlds for the horse racing and football fan.”
