Jockey Jermaine Bridgmohan recorded his 1,000th career win Thursday when he won the eighth race at Canterbury Park aboard Everything Bugs Me for trainer Mac Robertson. Bridgmohan also won the seventh race.

“I’ve been riding 20 years and I’m glad to get milestones like this,” Bridgmohan said. “I’m very grateful for all the owners, trainers and my fellow jockeys, to get to this point
and it feels pretty good.”
Born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, Bridgmohan’s first win came at Calder Race Course on Aug. 6, 2006, the year he began his career. The 38-year-old has won multiple graded stakes races including the 2008 Grade 3 Spend a Buck Handicap at Calder on It’s a Bird and the Grade 3 Ohio Derby on Prospective at Thistledown. His mounts have earned more than $24.6 million in purses.
