Tampa Bay Derby, San Felipe, Gotham, Santa Anita Big ‘Cap, Canterbury Horse of the 2017 Meet Amy’s Challenge and much more is in store this Saturday for race fans and bettors.
$25,000+ Road to Kentucky
The weekly free-to-enter Road to Kentucky Contest continues, of course, with the contest track being Tampa Bay Downs, all 12 races, which includes the double-point contest race the Tampa Bay Derby.
Two additional Derby prep bonus races are also part of the contest: the San Felipe form Santa Anita and The Gotham from Aqueduct. Entry deadline for this contest and your chance at free cash is 11 a.m.
Santa Anita always rolls out big action on Santa Anita Handicap day so in addition to the G2 San Felipe and the G1 $600,000 Big ‘Cap, they also run the G1 Frank Kilroe Mile and the G1 Triple Bend.
Money Back Bonus
Undefeated Amy’s Challenge continues her march toward the Kentucky Oaks when she faces six foes in her first try around two turns in Saturday’s $200,000 Grade 3 Honeybee at Oaklawn Park. Jareth Loveberry will ride, as he has in all three of her wins, for trainer Mac Robertson and local owner Joe Novogratz.
Plus, you can watch and wager on the filly in our Racebook and cash in on a Money Back Bonus. Bet $10 on Amy’s Challenge to win and if she finishes second, you get your money back.
Amy’s Challenge is second on the morning line at 2-1 behind 9/5 morning line favorite Red Ruby, who won the Martha Washington at one mile over a sloppy main track at Oaklawn on Feb. 10. Red Ruby has a pair of wins and a second from three starts. Both wins were at route distances.
The Honeybee is conducted at 1 1/16 miles. The next step for 3-year-old fillies at Oaklawn hopeful to make it to the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs is the April 13 $400,000 Grade 3 Fantasy Stakes at the same distance.
Amy’s Challenge is currently 30-1 in the Kentucky Oaks future wager, which is available now through Sunday.
